THE INTERNET

-Internet is a worldwide collection of network that link millions of businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and individuals.
-The internet originated as ARPANET in September 1969 and had two main goals. Allow scientists at different physical locations to share information and work together. Second is function even if part of the network were disabled or destroyed by a disaster.

CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET
-Can use wired or wireless modem. An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is a business that provides access to internet free.
-IP address is a sequence of number that uniquely identifies each computer connected to the internet. Domain name is a text based name that corresponds to the IP address. DNS server translate the domain name into its associated IP address.

MEDIA ON THE WEB
-A graphic is a digital representation of nontext information. Its formats include BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF. An infographic  is a visual representation of data and information.  Animation is the appearance of motion created by displaying.  Virtual reality (VR) is the use of computers to simulate a environment as 3D space.

OTHER INTERNET SERVICES
-Email is the transmission of messages and files via a computer network. In email have email program that allows you to create or anything s email messages.  It also has email list which a group of email addresses used for mass distribution of a message.
-Instant messaging (IM) is a real- time  Internet communications service. Besides, have VoIP (Voice over IP). It enables users to speak to other users over the internet like whatapp.
-FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is an Internet standard that permits file uploading and downloading to and from other computers on the Internet.  FTP server is a computer that allows users to upload  or download files using FTP.
